Certification & Assessment

The DIA Programme offers optional academic certification designed to reward consistent engagement while preserving open access to knowledge.

The Duby Intercollegiate Associateship maintains an open and flexible philosophy: all lectures remain freely accessible to anyone interested in scientific and academic discovery. At the same time, the programme offers a structured pathway for participants who wish to formalise their engagement.

Throughout each semester, optional short quizzes accompany the lecture cycle. These assessments are designed not as barriers, but as light-touch instruments encouraging attentive participation and intellectual continuity across the programme.

Participants who successfully complete the required number of quizzes are awarded an official DIA Certificate of Participation, recognising their sustained involvement in the academic cycle.

How certification works

Optional Quizzes

Short written quizzes accompany selected lectures and remain entirely optional for participants.

7 out of 10 Required

Participants who complete at least seven quizzes during the semester qualify for certification.

Certificate Awarded

Successful participants receive an official DIA certificate recognising their academic engagement.

Dissertation Prize

Outstanding independent work may be recognised through the annual DIA Dissertation Prize.

The DIA certification framework is designed to complement — not replace — formal university education.
